Allergies

Allergies are more widespread than most physicians realize, and they can cause far more serious health problems, both physical and mental, than is commonly believed. Allergy sufferers don’t need to despair, there are alternative approaches that can relieve and reverse allergies, even after conventional approaches have failed.

An allergy is an adverse immune system reaction to a substance that most people find harmless. Allergies can manifest in a variety of ways. Common examples of an allergic reaction include headaches, fatigue, sneezing, watery eyes, and stuffy sinuses following an exposure to specific foods, chemicals, dust, pollen, dust mites, animal dander, and a variety of other materials. The allergic reactions can range from mild to severe depending on the person.

Environmental allergies are most commonly caused by pollens from trees, weeds, and grass. Other causes are dust, mites, molds, tobacco smoke, cosmetics, perfumes, cleaning agents, gas for heating and cooking, detergents, fabrics in clothes, and metals in dental fillings.

Food allergies can cause various symptoms from sneezing and running nose to severe physical and mental disorders. The foods most commonly found to cause allergies include wheat, gluten, corn, milk and other dairy, egg whites, tomatoes, soy, shellfish, peanuts, chocolate, as well as food dyes and additives.

One of the primary causes of allergies is an impaired immune system, which increases the risk of allergic reactions. This occurs when the immune system becomes stressed due to an overload of toxins. These include increased toxic burdens of pollutions in all forms; disturbances of infant immune system through repeated vaccine and immunizations; and damage to the healthy intestinal flora due to over-use of antibiotics and steroids, including birth control pills. This weakens the immune system and interferes with the ability to absorb and properly utilize nutrients. Other causes include nutritional deficiencies, a repetitive and monotonous diet, chemicals in the food chain due to pesticides, herbicides and preservatives, and chronic intestinal yeast overgrowth (candidiasis). This leads to fatigue and allows viruses, bacteria, and other organisms to come in and play havoc.

Leaky gut syndrome, or excessive permeability in the digestive tract, which allows partially digested food particles (macromolecules) to leak into the bloodstream. The immune system reacts to these particles that would not be there with a healthy gastro intestinal tract. Among the causes of leaky gut is poor digestion, alcohol consumption, the use of NASAIDS, viral and bacterial infections, vitamin, mineral, amino acid and essential fatty acid deficiencies, stress, antibiotics, premature birth, radiation, and candidiasis. These are factors that one should consider and bring under control as part of an overall approach for treating allergies.

Allergies occur because of your immune system's maladaptive response to certain stimuli.  You first must recognize the causes of the immune systems abnormal responses and work to correct that body systems function.
